There is a memorial plate on the port side at the base of the armored boat, to which flowers are laid. The text on it reads: «To the Amur seamen, who showed heroism in defending the Far Eastern borders of our Motherland.» Below it is told: «Boat participated in the Great Patriotic War as a part of the Dnieper Flotilla. She took part in the liberation of the cities of Luninets, Pinsk, and in April 1945 — in the Berlin Operation».
The armored boat numbered 302 was built in 1944 at one of the Urals plants. The displacement of the armored boat was 29.2 tons, dimensions: 22.65 by 3.55 by 1.5 meters, speed of 35-37 knots. Armor, of course, protected only from bullets and splinters, only a tower had anti-shell protection.
On the right side, a small metal square tells of another tragic page in the history of the Russian Federation. The text on the small plate is engraved with numerous cuts due to lack of space. Surnames of officers who could not serve aboard this armored boat were mentioned, but all of them were also Far East seamen. Obviously, this tablet appeared here much later than the date of opening the monument.
This class of vessels turned out to be very successful and in demand in the conditions of the Second World War. Low-flying and flat-bottomed, they could literally come close to the shore, and at night on a small turn with the exhaust under the water the armored vessels managed to penetrate the enemy's cordons undetected. Boats were able to deliver unexpected strikes at close range, to land forces secretly and deliver cargoes. All these qualities of the army were fully appreciated even in the first months of the war, and they played a particularly important role in the course of the Battle of Stalingrad, when it was necessary to transport from the left bank of the Volga to the right under strong enemy fire and assault aircraft at any cost.An armored boat monument was erected in the northern part of the city on the Pacific Street, a little further from the Trekhgornaya stop. Its official opening took place on May 9, 1975. Every year on the Day of the Navy (the last Sunday of the second summer month) the flowers are laid in tribute to the memory of the fallen soldiers.
