Описание

Its design was awarded with a gold medal at the exhibition in Paris at the same time with the design of the Eiffel Tower. It was completed in record-breaking time, only in 4 years (within First World War conditions, when German fleet was wrecking steamships, which brought spans from Europe to the Far East). At the time of its construction riveters were paid one Ruble in gold (big money in those times) for each rivet completed. The bridge was blown up during the Civil War (later two restored spans slightly differed from the rest of the spans). It was dismounted from pillars to get rebuilt, and one of his old arch trusses is now the largest museum exponent. Even then, it was called the same — The Amur Miracle. To the present day the bridge over the Amur River is not only the largest at the Trans-Siberian railway, but the largest bridge crossing in the entire country. This grandiose and stately structure is truly called “the Amur Miracle”, which length is 2,6 kilometers, and the bridge spans are 127 meters each. The Amur Bridge (“the Tsarsky Bridge”) not only connected two far banks of the Amur, but also became “the crown of the Trans-Siberian Railway, the last point in the history of construction of the Great Siberian Route”. “The Amur Miracle of the XX century” — this is how the contemporaries called the railway bridge built near the city of Khabarovsk in 1916. Then it was the largest bridge of the Old World with length of 2600 meters
